Summer Design Ideas for Your Home
Summer is a lot of people’s favorite season of the year. It is a time for being outside and enjoying the sun’s light, warmth and life. We typically enjoy putting summer right inside our homes by incorporating some really fun and gorgeous colors and patterns in our seasonal interior design projects. Now there are many things you can do to do just that, but you have to know some essentials to guide you:
Here are some tips that can help you create the perfect summer feels in your home this year:
Generous Light
Light is the first ingredient of a summery home. Because you can’t imitate sunlight, think of ways to let more light inside. Maybe get new windows or even install skylights if you have enough space in your home.
Vibrant Colors
Summer is mainly about color and personality, and what better way to express your love for this season than by splashing your home with different sunny shades! Picture bright yellow, greens, oranges and the like – these are all typically related to summer. Incorporate in some opposite colors and wild prints, of course, and throw those flamingos and pineapples in the mix!
Palm-Inspired Designs
Palm leaf print One of the most summery prints you can possibly choose for your house is palm leaf print. Palm leaves are great, especially at lending a stunning tropical vibe to your home. They can really make you feel as though you idling time away on some island paradise. Hang a palm leaf garland as well, maybe bring out the cushions and have some attractive palm leaf fairy lights!
Light and Breezy
To get the ultimate summer taste, be sure that your home remains light and breezy all year round. You can get this result if you only use neutral shades everywhere and then simply accessorize with one bold color or two. By keeping things simple and clean, you help create a feeling of warmth and space.
Watercolor Paintings
Through watercolor paintings, you can add more spice to your summer home design. Think watercolor prints in your home to go with fit the different themes of your spaces and rooms. In the kitchen, for example, mix greens and purples or any design that puts the outdoors inside your home. Watercolor is so beautiful yet simple and perfect for summer feels, plus you can purchase it as wallpaper!
Plants
If you’re really interested in bringing a summer feel to your home, have plants all over your house where they are appropriate. Some good ones are deep green succulents and bright-hued flowers like flamingo flowers. Plants take the outdoors inside and are the best when it comes to pumping up summer feels in your home.
